Violin by Antonio Sgarbi

Rome · Italy · 1895

Antonio Sgarbi was a pupil of his father, Giuseppe Sgarbi, and worked alongside him in several Italian cities, including Finale Emilia and later Modena, before moving to Rome, where he remained until 1905. He subsequently settled in Palermo and worked there until 1911. The Sgarbi family's style is characteristically Emilian, often distinguished by a luminous golden-orange or glossy yellow varnish. Their instruments are highly valued by musicians around the world for their warm, powerful sound. Made in Rome in 1895 and certified by Eric Blot, this violin represents one of the finest examples of Antonio Sgarbi's work.
